Ryder Cup

Qualification System

A point system will be setup to determine 4 spots allocated to the HBHGA for the Ryder

Cup matches on October 8-10, 2005. Points will be earned from a selected group of

tournaments.

Point System:

Each tournament will be worth a maximum of 100 points to the winner (50 points per

team member in a 2-person competition.) Outlined below is the point system for both

match play and stroke play:

Place Total Points Earned

Ties for place will be broken by a USGA recommended match of cards.

For match play events, the allocation of points looks something like this:

Exception:

If for some reason we have fewer than 10 people competing, the point totals will be

reduced by a percentage of people competing. Thus, if 9 people are competing, point

totals will be worth 90% of the above, 8 people 80%, 7 people 70%, and so on.

Tournaments Selected for Points:

Schweikert Match Play
High Bridge Classic Stroke Play (1/2 per team member)
President's Cup Match Play (Points for both flights)
Senior Championship Stroke Play (Points for both flights)
The Jr. Senior Stroke Play Points
Two Person Multiple Shot Stroke Play Points (1/2 per team member)

(1/2 per team member)

Notes: We will award full points to each President’s Cup flight, as well as the Sr. and

Super Sr. Net flights. You can only win points for one of the flights, not in both.

Picking a team:

The top 4 point-earners will win a spot on the Ryder Cup team. The rest of the people

on the list will become alternates, in order of point total. If for some reason a person

chosen for the Ryder Cup can’t participate in the event, the next highest point earner

will earn a spot.

Exceptions:

If you win a spot on the Ryder Cup team through other means, such as winning a spot

from the Club Championship, you forfeit your points and are ineligible to win a spot

through this process.

In Case of Ties:

Point total ties will be resolved using the following system (like a match of cards):

· The player with the highest point total in the last 3 events (1 flight of the

Presidents Cup, 1 flight of the Sr. or Jr. Sr., and the 2 person multiple shot) will

be named the winner.

· If a tie still exists, the player with the highest point total in the last 2 events will

be named the winner.

· If a tie still exists, the player with the highest point total in the last event will be

named the winner.

· If a tie still exists, a sudden death playoff will be held. 100% handicap, starting

on hole 10.

Disclaimer:

Any other unforeseen issues will be decided by a majority decision of the Ryder Cup

Committee.
